Members of Oxford's archery club acquitted themselves rather well at the Berlin Open 2012 in December.

Nichola Simpson, Nat Merry, Katharina Baier, Antje Frotscher and Marc Tamlyn from Oxford Archers travelled together with David Timmins and Angelina Measures from the Oxford University Company of Archers to compete against over 500 other archers, international champions and Olympic archers among them.

Berlin Open Nat SMallerBerlin Open Team SmallerNat, after winning the chance to compete in the finals with an exciting one-arrow shootoff, handily defeated the 2nd seed 6-4 in the 1/32 final, swept away the 15th seed 7-1 in the 1/16 final, and was only stopped in a second one-arrow shootoff in the 1/8 final which she lost by a (g)nat's whisker, finishing in an impressive 5th place with 100 Euros prize money to her name. Nichola, after similarly losing in a one-arrow shootoff with a somewhat dubious judge's decision, came 9th. Berlin Open Antje Kat

Antje and Kat, both ranked 35th in their respective divisions, went on to claim 3rd and 6th place in the Second Chance tournament, winning valuable prizes.
